I had my first prenatal visit today. The nurse was very nice and I really liked her. She did my pelvic exam and all that and noticed I'm measuring pretty big for being only (almost) 9 weeks. She sent me downtown for an ultrasound to see if I was further along, or carrying twins. The ultrasound was good. We heard the heartbeat and got to see the little peanut. There was only one baby. I'm measuring right on target from my calculations, so I guess my uterus is just big. I don't know what that means. I guess we'll see at my next appointment. I see the actual doctor next month, so that will be good. I guess I'm one of his last OB patients he will be seeing. He's decided to just do the GYN stuff instead so I got pretty lucky. I still have to go in for the blood work, but they do it here on base so I can just walk in. I'll do that next week. I'm getting a special test done for a blood disorder that we discovered runs in my family as well, so that will be good to know. None of my immediate family has it, but I could still carry the mutation.

My best friend, Katie's wedding is in 3 weeks. I'll be flying to Oregon for the wedding. I am a little nervous now that I'm pregnant, traveling with Brayden, but I'm sure we'll be fine. I have to drive an hour to the airport so we'll have to leave sort of early. I think we'll be good, though.

Anyway, I need to get off here. Brayden is napping and I need to pick up a little bit.

Actually, the nurse just called and said everything with the ultrasound looked really good, so I just must be measuring a little funny. Nothing to worry about...which makes me feel good. I was a little worried about fibroids on my uterus, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Thank goodness!
